Preparation Steps
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine rice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low and let simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture has thickened, about 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with additional cinnamon if desired.

Notes

This rice pudding can be served warm or cold. Feel free to add raisins or nuts for extra texture.
