  2. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup in a large bowl. Stir well.
  3. Add the eggs and the egg yolk, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and maple extract.
  5. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually stir the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until fully incorporated. Fold in chopped pecans.
