  • 1 box lemon cake mix
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs eggs
  • 1 teaspoon butter extract optional
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix or lemon
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice from 1-2 lemons
  • 1 zest lemon
  • 0.02 g salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • for dusting powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 12-cup bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray or butter and flour it.
  2. Use a hand or stand mixer to beat the cake mix, butter, eggs, milk, extract, and pudding mix until a thick batter forms. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few crumbs. Remove and cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
  4. While baking, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Stir in sugar, lemon juice, zest, and salt, simmer until bubbles. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  5. Poke holes in the cake with a long skewer and pour the lemon butter sauce evenly over. Cool completely, then remove from pan. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
