  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4.4 ounces dark chocolate melted and cooled
  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.25 cup confectioners' sugar

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer fitted with paddle attachment, beat eggs, sugar, butter, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Add dry ingredients to the egg mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes. Cool completely.
  6. Melt chocolate and let cool slightly.
  7. In a stand mixer, beat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  8. Add melted chocolate, vanilla, and cocoa powder. Mix until smooth.
  9. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, until filling is shiny and smooth.
  10. Whip heavy cream and confectioners' sugar until soft peaks form.
  11. Spread French silk filling over cooled brownies. Top with whipped cream and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
