  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.333 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in both sugars until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra richness, add a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans.
