  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 sticks butter (softened)
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs eggs
  • 0.75 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup white chocolate chips (melted)
  • 0.5 cup Nutella

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Sift together flour and baking soda and set aside.
  4. Cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add salt, vanilla, and eggs; beat until well combined.
  6. Gradually add dry mixture; mix well.
  7. Stir in chocolate chips.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared sheets, 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden around edges.
  10. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  11. While cookies are cooling, prepare the filling by beating cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  12. Mix in melted white chocolate chips and Nutella until well combined.
  13. Refrigerate filling for 10 minutes before assembling.
  14. Spread filling on flat side of one cookie, then top with a second cookie.
  15. Refrigerate assembled sandwiches for 20 minutes to stiffen the filling.
  16. Serve at room temperature.
