  1. Slice the onions thinly and mince the garlic.

  3. Add minced garlic, sugar, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 15 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  4. Finish by stirring in balsamic vinegar and cooking for another 5 minutes. Serve warm.
