  • 1 lb kielbasa smoked sausage
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 lbs cabbage cored and chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • 0.75 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar

Preparation Steps
  1. Halve the kielbasa lengthwise and slice into 1/2-inch pieces. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1/2 tablespoon of oil and cook the sausage until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
  2. Return the pan to the stove. Add remaining 1 tablespoon of oil and chopped onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 3 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage, salt, and pepper to the pan. Toss well, cover, and cook, stirring every 4-5 minutes, until the cabbage is wilted, about 12 minutes.
  4. Stir in the red wine vinegar and return the sausage to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 3 minutes until heated through and tender. Taste and adjust salt if needed. Serve hot.
